vintage effect

Want your picture to have a vintaged-looking effect? Here's how!

Open up the picture you want to use. I'm going to use this one:

Next, go to your layer pallete. Right click on the layer your picutre is on, a list should pop up; find "Duplicate" and click it. Duplicate your background layer again, so there's two copies of it. Your new layer pallete should look like this:

Now set BOTH of the copies of your image to Soft Light. The picture should have gotten brighter, kind of like this:

Now make a new layer, then get your Paint Bucket. Fill that new layer with the HEX code #000040 or some type of dark blue depending on how yellow you want your picture to be. Set the dark-blue filled layer to Exclusion.

Your layer pallete should look like this now:

The picture should have a yellow-ish tint to it, like this:

If you want it to be less-yellow, change the opacity of the blue layer. Now go to Layers > Merge All (Flatten).

Here's the final one. You can soften it, add more editing to it, do whatever you want.

*all images were re-sized so they could fit my layout. just right click on them & select view image to get the original size! if there's something you don't understand, contact me and ask about it!
